A man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Ambridge on Tuesday.

According to Ambridge Police Chief John DeLuca, police were dispatched to Church Street around 2 p.m. after the alleged shooter called 911.

The victim, 26-year-old Mason Lang-Goins, was found dead at the scene, police said. The alleged gunman, 26-year-old Nicholas Andrews, is expected to face homicide charges.

"I hear bang, bang, bang, probably about four or five gunshots, and at first I wasn't sure if they were gunshots or really what they were, but my aunt and my grandma in there, they hear all this commotion going on outside, and I look out here and there's all sorts of cops and everything," said neighbor Nathan Bosh.

While the investigation continues, DeLuca said it appears there was an ongoing issue between the shooter and the victim. DeLuca said the victim came to the shooter's house and confronted him. The shooter called 911 himself, authorities said.

"They had an ongoing issue from what we're hearing, and that's just, we're top of the iceberg right now with it, so we're confirming there was some arguments between them," DeLuca said.

Police canvassed the neighborhood looking for home surveillance video and other evidence. It was not immediately known how the two men knew each other and what they were allegedly fighting about.

The victim's sister said her brother was a father and a good person who was loved.

"It's sad this had to happen over something that simply could have been a fight or could have been avoided," witness Kylie Sabol said.
