Amber Alert canceled in Denver metro area after toddler "taken with force" found safe
An Amber Alert in the Denver metro area has been canceled after a toddler who was "taken with force by noncustodial parents" was found safe. The child was taken at 1 a.m. Sunday in Centennial on the 5160 block of South Quintero Street.
The Amber Alert stated that the noncustodial parents are a White man and an Asian woman. They are Jared Reid, 42, and Rose Kim, 41. Police said they believed Reid was dangerous and had a weapon.
The vehicle the pair was driving, a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner, was seen in Thornton in the area of 120th and Irma around 1:45 a.m. Sometime around sunrise, the 4Runner was located in Centennial.
It was found in a parking space at a condo complex in the 7700 block of East Phillips Circle. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office led a SWAT operation that surrounded several adjacent residences in the complex.
Around 10:30 a.m., officials deactivated the Amber Alert and announced that the child was located and is safe. Reid reportedly turned himself in to the Adams County Sheriff's Office this morning, and authorities said Kim is also in custody.
