A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that shut down southbound lanes on the Bishop Ford Freeway early Tuesday morning. 

Illinois State Police confirmed the motorcycle hit a vehicle at Sibley Avenue just before 3 a.m. State police said the crash caused the car to hit a wall on the freeway. 

State police said the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver has not been identified. 

All southbound lanes have reopened. 

The cause of the crash was not immediately available. Police are investigating.
