Chicago police warn of over a dozen vehicles damaged overnight in 2 Loop parking garages
Chicago police are warning residents after more than a dozen vehicles were damaged and burglarized overnight in the Loop.
Police said the incidents happened in the Printer's Row and Dearborn Park neighborhoods around 11:19 p.m. Friday and 2:20 a.m. Saturday.
Seven cars were reported damaged in the 600 block of South LaSalle Street, five others in the 800 block of South Wells Street, and one in the 100 block of West 9th Street.
In each incident, the suspect targeted unoccupied vehicles in the garages and broke the passenger or driver side windows with an unknown object. Personal property was taken from several vehicles, police said.
In some of the incidents, the suspect was seen fleeing in a gray Lexus sedan bearing an Ontario, Canada, license plate.
The suspect was described as an African American male last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and black/gray Nike "Jordan" gym shoes.
