3 shot in Berwyn, Illinois after someone opens fire outside Junior's Bar & Grille
Three people were injured after shots were fired into a bar and grill in Berwyn, Illinois, early Saturday morning.
Berwyn police said that between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the suspect got into an argument with someone at Junior's Bar & Grill in the 7000 block of Ogden Ave. The two people left the bar, and police said shots were then fired from outside on the sidewalk.
Police said bullets went through the bar window, hitting three people inside.
One neighbor said he is concerned for the safety of his family.
"Security is obviously top of mind. Me and my wife are starting a family, so that's really something where we're coming from, safety most of all," Leo Torres said.
He said he arrived home shortly before the shooting happened.
"It was a pretty late night for us. We just came back from a concert in Tinley, so when we drove up, it was already pretty loud. They had the music going on. Kind of expected it. We've been out here, so we're kind of used to the music."
CBS News Chicago contacted Berwyn's mayor and neighborhood alderman, but neither would commit.
Toress said the alderman was just elected.
"He just got elected running on a ticket of transparency, promoting business safety, etc. All those good things, but these are those moments where he should step up," he said.
The victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals. They have since been released.
The bar and grill owner said they couldn't say much because the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
As of Monday, no arrests have been made.
Berwyn police are behind the investigation.
